PPV and risk calculators

I discussed this briefly before. We often see positive predictive value (PPV) as

PPV= \frac{tp}{tp+fn}.

As mentioned, PPV is really an estimator for p(dz+|test+). Risk scores estimate p(dz+|age, smoking, BMI, etc... ).

So PPV is a risk score with test result as the risk factor.
