To fourth-year medical students: 

Just a small thought from someone who studied a lot of statistics and algorithms— if the match doesn’t go your way, don’t take it personally. Algorithms are algorithms. You genuinely need to work super hard to match—and great job if you get what you want—but if you don’t, remember that any algorithm’s solution can be tough, and a construct, sort of like statistical significance.
